Direct Primary Care for Employers

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a popular alternative to the traditional fee-for-service insurance billing. Many families and individuals have been taking advantage of Elevated Health since 2016 but what many might not know is that it’s not only individuals that can adopt this healthcare practice. Employers can benefit from DPC by offering it to their employees!

DPC allows doctors to spend more time with each patient which results in happier doctors and happier patients. DPC is a convenient way to provide quality care, it will allow for superior employee health, and it will be a great added benefit for recruitment and retention.

Here are some commonly asked questions regarding direct primary care and what role it can play for your employees:

What is direct primary care?

Direct Primary Care (DPC)is a form of healthcare that delivers high quality, physician-led care. In a nutshell, DPC delivers a buffet-like menu of primary care services, 24/7 doctor access, wholesale medication, and other exclusive services for a low, flat monthly fee! At Elevated Health, we break down our monthly fees by ages:

0-19 (with a paid membership) $25

20-45 $79

46-64 $99

65+ $119

College Student (<30 years old) $50

BUSINESSES (5 or more employees)

Employees and spouses $75

Employee dependents $20

What does DPC mean for employees?

Research published in the American Journal roughly calculated that it takes 121 minutes each time a patient seeks medical care, 37 minutes of travel time, and 87 minutes at the clinic and out of those 121 minutes, patients spend 8-12 minutes face-to-face with their doctor.

DPC completely re-writes the narrative. DPC offers a lower administrative responsibility allowing physicians to spend as much time as the patient needs or requires. Some of our patients have commented, “This is a more progressive and ‘back to roots’ doctor-patient relationship type of office…”, “If you want a strong relationship with your personal medical team, then Elevated Health is the answer.” We offer unparalleled service to individuals and we hope we can provide this same service to you and your employees as well!

How does DPC differ from traditional primary care?

How cost-effective is DPC?

DPC physicians take time to provide a broad range of care. Doing this reduces the amount of specialist referrals which in turn reduces costs. However, if outside referrals are needed, DPC physicians are able to coordinate fair prices and advocate for their patients.

Why should employers incorporate DPC with their business?

Employers should consider incorporating DPC care because it is offering an alternative to a system that is flawed. Instead of dealing with insurance companies, we are paid by our patients to provide healthcare while avoiding unnecessary time and money spent. DPC provides a better and more enjoyable experience of healthcare for your employees and less time away from work while still getting the quality of healthcare that is deserved. DPC is cost-effective, reduces claims against your policy and keeps your premiums from escalating by providing unlimited primary care and urgent care.
