Cast 21: Mesh Sleeve That Can Replace Traditional Casts

The only thing worse about breaking your arm (aside from the broken bone part) is having to deal with the entire casting and healing process. The casts are almost always heavy, bulky, and in general just super inconvenient. However, we can kiss those days goodbye thanks to Chicago-based start-up, Cast 21. We’re happy to announce that we now offer their casts at Elevated Health. We love utilizing the most advanced treatments to our members. 

Elevated Health members can get Cast 21’s treatment for $199. Non- Elevated Health members can get it for $399 (includes the initial placement visit and a follow-up/removal visit 6 weeks later)! Casting and bracing treatments have been long overdue for an upgrade! Cast 21 offers us the solution in a streamline and enhanced new way.

The team has created a mesh sleeve that slips onto a patient’s wrist. Once in place, the device is injected with a liquid resin that quickly hardens, giving fractured bones the support they need to heal. It’s unique pretzel-like design allows for fresh air to reach the majority of the skin, allowing the patient to scratch their itch away if necessary.

Due to their technology still in its early days, their forearm sleeves are only available in the US. Cast 21 has been featured in Forbes’ list of 30 Under 30.
